Hi friends! I’m Nicole, and I consider myself to be an amateur crafter. What does that exactly mean? It means I find fun and easy crafts on Pinterest or TikTok and have the audacity to believe I can recreate it. I’m like a jack of all trades with crafting. On this blog, I want to create a space where I can share my tips, tricks, and general experiences with various crafts to help out other beginner crafters. I’m so happy you’re here and hope we can learn together!

Meet Me!

Like I said, my name is Nicole, and I love to craft. I didn't consider myself artistic growing up, but I always thought of myself as an analytical thinker and problem solver. I can picture how things come together to create a bigger product, and that’s mostly what crafting is in my opinion. 

I discovered my passion for crafting during my first relationship in high school. For our one year anniversary, I made a scrapbook, and had a lot of fun with it. That’s when I realized how much I enjoy crafting, especially as gifts for people. So, I’ve set a mission to make as many handmade gifts for loved ones as I can. However, I don’t want gifts to get repetitive, so I am constantly picking up new types - which means over the years I have done a lot of different crafts. 

Outside of crafting, I am currently a student at Hofstra University getting my MBA in Sports and Entertainment Management. I hope to enter into a career in event coordination and community relations (again building off my analytical side).. A few other fun facts are my favorite animals are koalas, I’ve been to race car driving school, and I collect rubber ducks!

Why I Started This Blog

In my quest of constantly trying new crafts, I oftentimes felt overwhelmed with the level of perfection I found shared by other crafters. It was discouraging. I also felt stressed with all the new technical terms they used and the cost of starting a new craft. So, I wanted to create a site geared towards beginners. 

My content will show the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ll talk about my mess ups and celebrate the successes. I’ll keep all the language in simple terms and not bombard readers with crafting jargon. Lastly, I will share tips on household items that can be used as alternatives to buying new crafting tools. 

The site will be a place where questions can be asked without judgement. Where we can learn together in the process and not feel the need to be perfect immediately. 

What Content Can I Expect?

My blog will be a variety of things related to crafting. Topics I want to write about include: 

• Crafting Experiences: I’ll share my experience with different crafts I try and what I learned along the way. 

• Recommended Products: When I find a versatile product that I love, I want to spread the knowledge with others!

• Junk Journaling: This is my favorite and most consistent craft, so I’ll share my spreads that I create and the tools I use to inspire others.

This list certainly isn’t exhaustive, but it’s a glimpse at what to expect. My goal is to help other amateur crafters and share a relatable experience of crafting. Even if it doesn’t come out perfect, it was handmade and the process is half the fun!
